Occupational health and safety best practices in HA are an important doctrine of the company's business. Weaved into day-to-day operations, from management policies, operational guidelines to support working cluster responsibilities, zero tolerance policy on accidental occurrences are synonymous with quality assurance. This inculcation towards a healthy and safe working environment for all employees is consistently placed into every technical, automated and manual handling of all workings in the company.

All employees are required to undergo a detailed safety, health and environment induction, in addition to attending internal refresher programmes. This allows all employees, including management, to keep abreast with both industry and in-company best practices for occupational safety, health and environment requirements.

Competency Certification for Environmental

HICOM Automotive is very committed in environmental protection at workplace and surroundings. At workplace there are a number of activities such as generation of sewage waste water and scheduled wastes which need be looked into to ensure the protection of the environment. Due to that, HA management has sent internal staff for competency training as per requirements by the Department of Environmental, Malaysia (DOE) as to ensure waste management adhere to specification by DOE regulations.

Below are the staff who undergone competency training related to activities within HICOM Automotive:

1) Hamimah Satirah Mazlan

Course for Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM)

2) Abdul Rusli Mohamed

Course for Certified Environmental Professionals in Sewage Treatment Plant (CePSTPO)

3) Muhammad Firdaus Mohd Noh

Course for Certified Environmental Professionals in Sewage Treatment Plant (CePSTPO)

The staff has undergone competency training which was organized by the Environment Institute of Malaysia (EiMAS). The training period was 5 days inclusive of examination on the last day. Once they pass the examination, they are assigned to complete Field Training Report (FTR) in their competency background for 6 months. The FTR report will be assessed by EiMAS and the certification shall be awarded if the FTR is satisfactory.

HA would like to wish good luck to them in their effort to run for competency certification. HA also would like to express gratitude on their commitment to expend their knowledge and at the same time helping HA to protect the environment.
